Business as Usual

Strata Life is closely monitoring events as they unfold with regards to the COVID-19 Virus and we wanted to reassure our clients that at present it is business as usual regarding the management of your property. Following the latest advice however the following measures have been put in place:

  • Should the need arise we have put in place policies, procedures and secured the required technology for our employees to work remotely.
  • To ensure we can continue to do this we are restricting access to our office for all but essential visits (e.g. strata searches, contractor collection of keys etc)
  • We will continue to be available on phone and email for any matters.

Following limitations from State and Federal Governments and based on advice from our industry body the Strata Community Association all face to face meeting are on hold. This includes Annual General and Committee Meetings. We will individually contact clients with meetings already scheduled and those with agendas due to be posted in the next few weeks to discuss alternate arrangements including holding meetings via electronic means or postponements.

Repairs and Maintenance Contractors

We realise that while possible, it is important for contractors to still attend site to maintain the grounds, gardens and building and importantly clean the common property.
With the restriction of non-essential work, most non urgent work will be postponed especially if it involves accessing individual units. In the event the situation deteriorates and the government implements stricter isolation requirements, it is likely only emergency works will be conducted.

We ask for owners and residents to be patient during this time and trust for us to make appropriate decisions regarding use of limited available contractors on an as needs basis.

All contractors that are used by our office have been advised that they are not to attend site if unwell, have been overseas in the past 14 days or have had contact with a person who has tested positive. We also stress that if you are unwell or displaying flu like symptoms, if you have travelled overseas in the last 14 days or if you have had exposure to a person who has tested positive to COVID-19 in the last 14 days, that for their safety and to reduce the spread, contractors are not to enter you unit.

Notification of Virus at your Property

If owners or residents in your property advise us they have tested positive to the COVID-19 virus, we will seek their permission (as required by privacy legislation) to notify all owners, residents and agents.

We have been advised that NSW Health is placing notices on the entry door where occupants have tested positive, however as with everything, processes are changing daily and it may not be the case moving forward.

As common property are communal areas, please take the government advice below to preventing the spread of the virus and remember there are likely vulnerable residents living in your property and we need to protect them as a community.

  • Clean your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow
  • Practice social distancing maintaining 1.5 m from others.
